Here are some reasons to consider a Pro Mixer.

KitchenAid Professional 600 Series

How is the KitchenAid Professional 600 Lift Stand Mixer different from the popular KitchenAid Classic Mixer? Take a look:

KitchenAid Professional 600 SeriesPower

While the Classic Mixer has a 275-watt motor, the KitchenAid Lift Stand Mixer has a 575-watt motor that can handle greater volume of ingredients for big projects.

The KitchenAid Classic mixer has a 4.5-quart bowl is big enough to suit the needs of every household. Just to give you an idea, a 4.5 quarter mixing bowl is just right to make three loaves of bread, 6 dozen cookies and 6 pounds of mashed potatoes in a single batch.

The professional version has a 6-quart stainless steel bowl that provides enough capacity to mix dough for 13 dozen cookies, 8 loaves of bread or 8 pounds of mashed potatoes in a single batch. Now, this is what you will need for small gatherings.

Planetary Mixing Action

With a bigger bowl to cover and more ingredients to mix, this pro version has 67-point planetary mixing action that will provide for the most thorough and satisfying mixes.

Power Hub and Free Attachments

Like all KitchenAid mixers, this pro version includes a flat beater, a spiral dough hook and a 6-wire whisk that will help you mix, knead and whip ingredients into culinary masterpieces quickly and easily.

The spiral dough hook for this pro version comes with its unique design which they call “PowerKnead” . It produces a powerful force that kneads 25% more yeast bread dough with incredible efficiency.

There are other attachments available on the KitchenAid website which can turn your mixer into other useful kitchen gadget such as a sausage filler and a meat grinder. Just check out their site for the available attachments.

Titling Head

One of its most impressive features is that the KitchenAid 6 QT Mixer motor head is able to tilt backwards.

This makes it very easy for the user to detach, attach or replace the head accessories. The usual stand mixer design forces you to bend down to see the hub. When you are able to tilt the head backwards, you will have the hub directly facing you. This gives you an easier time in setting the mixing accessories.

This tilt-head feature also makes it easier for you to manage the bowl. If you want to add ingredients or you want to partly mix your project with a spoon, you’ll have clear access to the mouth of the bowl.

10 Speeds

10 SpeedsThe 575-watt motor can turn the hub in 10 different speed settings.

Speed 1 is perfect for a gentle stir. It is advisable that all mixing projects start off in this level so that there is less likelihood for spillage as the ingredients go through a slow gentle mix before it progresses into tougher blending for full incorporation of ingredients.

After a minute of gentle mixing under Speed 1, you can proceed to Speed 2 which will provide for faster stirring suitable for mixing and kneading bread dough, mashing potatoes and for very thin batters.

If your kitchen project calls for mixing and beating slightly heavy batters like cookie dough, for cakes or for combining sugar and shortening, you can set it up further at Speed 4.

For creaming, beating or whipping cake mixes, put the speed up to Speed 6.

For fast beating and whipping egg whites and cream, put it further at Speed 8.

Though Speeds 1 to 8 can already take care of the most mixing requirements, Speeds 9 and 10 are there as allowances for cases where you want more powerful mixing actions or when doing things like whipping egg whites.
